GENERAL:
***What are these dolls?***
-They are called Ball Jointed Dolls. They are generally made out of Resin, but are also made of ABS Plastic and Vinyl. They are also called Asian Ball Jointed Dolls, because most of them come from Asia, more spesifically Japan, Korea, and China. There are a few others from America, France, and so on.
***Did you make them?***
-I wish! But no. I order them 'blank' (no face up, clothes, hair, or eyes) and then customize them by buying wigs and eyes and doing their face up.
***What is a faceup?***
-It's the dolls 'make up.' Adding color to the lips, lining the eyes, putting in eyelashes, drawing on the eyebrows. All of these things can really bring life to your doll.
***Is **** for sale?***
-Unless I state otherwise, no they aren't for sale. But thank you for being interested!
***How much are these dolls?***
-The price question is a tough one. They can be anywhere from 100$ (or lower) to 1,000$ or more. It all depends on the company, make, and quality.
***How can you spend so much on a doll!? Are you rich!?***
-No, I am not rich by any means. My first doll was money saved up from a job, and money generously given by my family. My second doll was again from a job. I spend so much on this because it's fun. It's no different then spending money on model airplanes and cars. It's a hobby. If you like it, then that's all that matters.
***What do you do with them?***
-I use mine as drawing models, photograph them, and sew for them.
***Can I use your photo as a representation of my character in an rp/online/ect....?***
-Please don't. These are my characters of my own making, and I would like it if you wouldn't use them.
***OMG YOUR DOLL LOOKS LIKE-***
- I try to be origional with all of my characters. The fact that they might look like somebody else is out of pure coincedence. I personally won't be too offended if this matter is brought up, but there are several people in the hobby who would be extremely offended if this was said to them. They put a lot of time and effort into making their characters their own. It's best not to say this to any owner, unless they are TRYING to make their character look like somebody.
***Your doll is so creepy! It scares me!***
-I understand being afraid of dolls. A lot of doll freak me out, too. Even some in the BJD hobby! It's not nice to put somebody down because you think their doll is creepy, though. If somebody WANTS their doll to be creepy to people, then it may be okay to say 'wow your doll is creepy! Very cool!" Or somthing along those lines, but just because you think somebody's doll is creepy, don't go around saying "ew why would you collect them! They're so creepy! You must be creepy." Because that's not nice. People take pride in their dolls.
